Partner Action: Solidarity at Barrio Arts Festival July 12 & 13
Join us this weekend at the Barrio Arts Fest in Humboldt Park to stand in solidarity against potential ICE intimidation. Fears have risen after ICE agents reportedly scouted the area, possibly targeting the festival.
This event celebrating Puerto Rican culture features over 60 vendors, live performances, art activations, and delicious food—an important celebration of community and artistic expression. By showing up in strong numbers, we send a clear message that Chicago’s diverse and vibrant neighborhoods will not be intimidated or divided.
Your presence not only supports local artists and artisans but also demonstrates unity and resistance against efforts to instill fear in immigrant communities. Let’s stand together and show that Chicago refuses to be silenced.
👉 The festival runs Saturday, July 12 from 11-7 and Sunday, July 13 from 11-6, and entry is free.

Partner Action: Fight Censorship of Academic Research
Federally-supported research drives basic science and knowledge production in the U.S., playing a critical role in our economy, health, and well-being. Everyone benefits from this shared knowledge, generated with federal support. However, the Trump Administration's directives censoring research, like restricting terms like "disability" and "LGBT," threaten this progress. This suppression harms individuals and puts the nation's global competitiveness, economy, and reputation at risk.
👉 Congress must intervene to stop and roll back U.S. government censorship of research, ensuring scholars can freely explore, collaborate, and share their work without restriction.

Script: Hello, my name is [NAME] and I’m a constituent from [CITY, ZIP]. I’m calling to urge [REP/SEN NAME] to do everything they can to roll back U.S. government censorship of academic research. The work of our country’s researchers benefits everyone in all communities, and should not be restricted by political aims.

Partner Action: Riders Rise Up to Save Transit Saturday
Authoritarian forces are getting bolder, with Trump and his allies pushing mass deportations, civil rights rollbacks, and attacks on democracy. But we can stop this through sustained organizing.
This summer, join One Million Rising, a national effort training one million people in non-cooperation, community organizing, and campaign design. There will be three sessions: July 16 (The Moment & Your Mission), July 30 (How to Make it Happen), and August 13 (campaign design and implementation). Sign up for all three to build people power and host community resistance gatherings. Let's build a force bigger than fear and louder than hate.
