ICA Action: Good Trouble Lives On - John Lewis Day of Action TOMORROW
Our rights are under attack. Our democracy is under siege. We’ve been here before, and we know what to do.
On July 17, we honor the anniversary of the passing of civil rights hero John Lewis, not with ceremonies, but with action. Across the country, we will take to the streets, courthouses, and community spaces to carry forward his fight for justice, voting rights, and dignity for all.
This is more than a protest, it’s a moral reckoning. A continuation of the movement Lewis helped lead, and a new front in the struggle for freedom.

Partner Action: Oppose Cryptocurrency GENIUS Act
The GENIUS Act (S. 1582), or “Guiding and Establishing National Innovation for U.S. Stablecoins Act,” aims to regulate payment stablecoins but falls short on safeguards. It risks integrating cryptocurrencies into the traditional banking system, forcing banks to pay stablecoin claims before other deposits during market crashes, potentially using savings to cover crypto losses.
Critics warn this could threaten financial stability, similar to the 2008 housing crash. Senator Josh Hawley called it a “giveaway to Big Tech,” as it would allow companies like Meta and Twitter to create competing digital currencies and collect more user data. The bill also lacks measures to prevent misuse of cryptocurrencies for illegal activities. The GENIUS Act has already passed the Senate.
👉 The House is expected to vote on S. 1582 the week of July 14th. Call now to oppose. Find your representative
Script: Hello, my name is [NAME] and I’m a constituent from [CITY, ZIP]. I’m calling to urge [REP NAME] to oppose the Senate-passed GENIUS Act, S. 1582. This bill will prioritize the solvency of crypto investors over traditional bank customers and put our entire banking system at risk of collapse. It also does nothing to stop the Trump family’s corrupt use of crypto to accept dark money bribes.

Partner Action: Messaging for Solidarity - Race Class Narrative with Anat Shenker-Osorio 7/21
The opposition regularly uses racial fear as a tool to exploit economic realities and turn people against one another. The Race Class Narrative messaging and analysis help us fight back against these attacks to build solidarity across differences.
Host of the Words to Win By podcast and Principal of ASO Communications, Anat Shenker-Osorio examines why certain messages falter where others deliver. She has led research for new messaging on issues ranging from freedom to join together in union to clean energy and from immigrant rights to reforming criminal justice. Anat's original approach through priming experiments, task-based testing and online dial surveys has led to progressive electoral and policy victories across the globe.
