Partner Action: Demand Fair Maps in Texas and Nationwide

The Texas legislature is beginning a redistricting process prompted by the Trump administration’s call for more Republican House members. Texas Republicans propose a new Congressional map that redraws districts, mainly affecting racial and ethnic minority areas, to secure five new GOP seats.

Since the 1965 Voting Rights Act, courts have found Texas’s district maps illegally diluted minority voting power—something Republicans now seek to worsen. This mid-decade redistricting, instead of waiting for the 2020 Census-based map, could influence national redistricting and shift Congressional power after 2026.

State governors must pressure Texas to stop this process, as a partisan cycle of mid-decade redistricting could trigger widespread gerrymandering.

👉 Call Governor Pritzker at 312-814-2121 or another number listed here and urge him to oppose this anti-democratic move.

Script: Hi, my name is [NAME] and I’m a constituent from [ZIP CODE]. I'm calling to ask that Governor J.B. Pritzker publicly condemn the radical redistricting process happening in Texas. All state leaders must speak out against the dangerous precedent established by this blatantly partisan gerrymandering.

Partner Action: Unite for Trans Youth Lives: Rally & Protest 8/10

From hospitals cutting off gender-affirming care to federal rollbacks of emergency mental health services, trans youth are being stripped of the right to exist, thrive, and access life-saving health care.

Illinois is a sanctuary state for transgender rights — yet major institutions are walking back care and leaving families in crisis. This is a state of emergency and we are fighting back against these attacks on gender affirming medical and mental health services.

This is a call to action. Show up. Speak out. Fight for trans futures!

👉 Join us on August 10th to demand:

  • Immediate restoration + expansion of gender-affirming care

  • Protection of 988 LGBTQ+ crisis services & The Trevor Project contract
