Partner Action: Investigate the Abuse and Disappearance of ICE Detainees

In August, a federal judge ordered Florida and the Trump administration to close the “Alligator Alcatraz” detention camp and relocate its detainees. Since then, over a thousand men have gone missing, with hundreds unrecorded in ICE’s database.

The Department of Homeland Security has repeatedly failed to provide clear information about detainees. Many immigrants sent to the CECOT prison in El Salvador remain missing, and transgender detainees are intentionally omitted from reports, increasing their risk of abuse.

Families and lawyers struggle to locate people snatched off the streets by unidentified federal agents. DHS also refuses to disclose information about the record-high number of deaths in custody, including a former DACA recipient. Widespread abuse at ICE facilities includes sexual assault, medical neglect, and mistreatment of children and pregnant women.

👉  We must demand investigations to ensure detainee safety, accountability, and rights.

Script: Hi, my name is [NAME] and I’m a constituent from [ZIP CODE]. I’m calling to express my outrage over the inhumane treatment and disappearance of detainees in ICE custody. I ask that [NAME] conduct oversight investigations into these concentration camps to locate the missing detainees and protect their safety and due process rights.

ICA Partner Action: Indivisible Postcard Party in Lakeview TOMORROW

Voters in Virginia will head to the polls this November to pick a new governor. Former Rep. Abigail Spanberger, a Democrat, and Virginia Lt. Gov. Winsome Earle-Sears, a MAGA Republican, are the candidates.

👉 On September 30th at 6 PM, we'll be coming together to save democracy by writing postcards to voters in Virginia to get out the vote in the November election. We will provide the postcards, the addresses, and the script. You provide the stamps for the postcards you write or donate!

So, come join us at Beermiscuous TOMORROW to write postcards to VA voters. Remember to bring postcard stamps

ICA Action: Hang Posters for Hands Off Chicago March 10/18

Here in Chicago we know how to rise up, fight back, and support each other.

It is more important than ever that we do that together on October 18th as we show the nation and the world that Chicago is united in opposing these illegal and unnecessary attacks against our neighbors, our communities, and our democracy.

Our actions and resistance are necessary as Trump sends militarized agents into our communities, silences voters and voices, and hands billionaires giveaways while families struggle. This isn’t just politics. It’s democracy versus dictatorship. We won’t accept a wannabe king, and we won’t back down against chaos, corruption, and cruelty.

👉 Help us spread the word by printing and hanging posters around your neighborhood for the Hands Off Chicago March on Saturday, October 18.

And RSVP to join millions of people across the country in a national day of action to declare: Hands Off Chicago and No Kings!

While some of these Daily Actions come from our own work as Indivisible Chicago Alliance, others are from our many partners working to advance the progressive agenda. We invite you to join us in supporting their work. Postings from partners do not imply Indivisible Chicago Alliance endorsement of specific policies and positions.
