ICA Action: Support IL Senators in the Funding Fight

Senators Durbin and Duckworth have refused to support any government funding deal that continues Trump's healthcare cuts and allows his lawlessness to go unchecked. They must hold their ground, so join us in letting them know we have their back!

Our Senators need to hear from their constituents that we want them to fight like hell. Push Senators Durbin and Duckworth to be bold and help strengthen their backbone.

👉 Send your Senators an email encouraging them to hold strong in the fight.

ICA Action: Support No Kings March 10/18

On October 18, Chicago will join millions across the country to deliver a bold message: Hands Off Chicago! We oppose Donald Trump’s escalating crackdown, where masked agents use brutal tactics to kidnap and imprison people seeking a better life, then deport them without due process. These acts of authoritarianism threaten our democracy and mirror actions of a dictator, not a president.

We are witnessing the rise of authoritarianism nationwide, from attacks on free speech to politically motivated indictments. This must stop. It is up to us—the people—to stand against this slide into autocracy.

Join us at Butler Field in Grant Park on Saturday, October 18 as part of the national No Kings movement. Let’s make our voices heard and fight for our rights. Your participation can help make this the largest mobilization in modern American history.

👉 Now...help us spread the word before October 18!

  • Print and hang a poster. Can you hang just one poster on a light pole or on a coffee shop bulletin board? Back in 2017, all it took was a Facebook event to build a movement. Times have changed; we need you to make this go viral. Download a poster here.

  • Tell a friend. Find the friend who rarely, or maybe never, has come to a protest and let them know that this time it’s different.

  • Forward this email. Make sure your entire friend group knows this is happening and makes plans now.

  • Chalk the sidewalk. Already we are seeing chalk messages advertising No Kings pop up on sidewalk corners. Find a corner and chalk a message with the date and location.

  • Share on social media. Promote this rally by posting, liking and re-posting on InstagramBlueSkyThreads, and Facebook. Follow us and share!

  • Hold a poster making party. Gather your friends and make posters. This will help build excitement and create a sense of community around this event.

Partner Action: Oppose the SAVE Act

The pressure is growing. Supporters of the so-called “SAVE Act” are ramping up their push to restrict voting rights, and now the Election Assistance Commission (EAC) is considering a dangerous petition from the America First Legal Foundation.

This petition would require every American to present documents as proof of citizenship just to register to vote. That may sound simple, but in practice, it would create massive barriers for eligible voters, especially students, older voters, people in rural areas, and communities of color.

The EAC is accepting public comments on this petition until Monday, October 20th. Opponents of voting rights are flooding the comment system with their support. We need to make sure our voices are just as loud.

Together, we can ensure this attempt to block millions of Americans from registering never becomes law.

👉 Sign the petition today and make sure your voice is heard before the October 20 deadline.
