Partner Action: Stand Against ICE Expansion

Join the Indiana Undocumented Youth Alliance, Cosecha Indiana, the Indiana Latino Democratic Caucus, and other immigrant-rights groups to oppose the ICE expansion at Camp Atterbury and Miami Correctional Facility. On July 15, 2025, the Department of Defense announced plans to hold ICE detainees at Camp Atterbury, a large military site near Edinburgh, Indiana. Additionally, the Indiana Department of Corrections plans to make 1,000 beds available at the Miami Correctional Facility through ICE agreements, despite public opposition and concerns about due process.

Advocates emphasize ICE’s pattern of detaining families and individuals for minor offenses, often without proper legal process. Local and national data show that expanding detention capacity fosters increased arrests and family separations.

We call on Indiana’s congressional leaders to oppose the use of military and correctional facilities for ICE detention and to hold public hearings.

Partner Action: Support $6.3 million in Funding for the Flexible Housing Pool

The Flexible Housing Pool (FHP) is a multi-agency program that helps people experiencing homelessness who cycle through public crisis systems to find permanent housing. The FHP is different from traditional housing programs in that it focuses on reducing costs to the health care sector while improving individual health outcomes. 1,400 participants are at risk of returning to homelessness without full funding from Cook County.

Cook County is a significant portion of FHP’s funding pool, providing $5 million in FY25. However, this funding no longer meets the needs of the program due to inflation and rising rent costs. If funding from Cook County for the FHP doesn’t increase to $6.3 million for 2026, families currently in the program are in jeopardy of returning to homelessness.

👉 Contact President Preckwinkle and your County Commissioner to support fully funding the Flexible Housing Pool!
