Partner Action: Support Little Village Mexican Independence Day Parade 9/14

The Trump regime has declared war on Chicago, ramping up ICE presence and accelerating deportation efforts. The administration has openly stated that they will be targeting the Mexican Independence Day celebrations in an effort to terrorize the immigrant community.

This isn’t a time to be silent. This is a time to be loud and visible. Here are some immediate actions we can take:

👉 Support the Little Village Mexican Independence Day Parade on September 14, 2025, from 12 pm - 3 pm. See map here.

In coordination with the organizers of the 2025 Annual 26th Street Mexican Independence Day Parade and the Little Village Chamber of Commerce, let's show up in peaceful solidarity and support for our neighbors, friends, family, and loved ones at the upcoming Mexican Independence Day Parade on Sunday, September 14, 2025.

Please attend as spectators and help observe and record any ICE activity in case they show up. Learn more about how to do this. Our presence sends a strong message of unity and care for our Little Village community and all of our neighbors.

ICA Partner Action: Indivisible Evanston Community Resistance Meeting 9/16

As part of the Indivisible National One Million Rising Movement, Indivisible Evanston is hosting this meeting to build our community connections and resilience and to discuss the need for mass defiance and how we can act locally and nationally using different noncooperation and defiance tactics.

We will hear from some of you who have already held Community Resistance gatherings about the ideas generated there as well as from a few members who have proposed local actions.  We want to give you a chance to share and discuss your ideas as well.

👉 Please join us for a community gathering on Tuesday September from 6:30-8:30 pm in the party room at 1500 Sheridan Road in Wilmette.

ICA Partner Action:SHOW UP CHICAGO with Richard Day and Alderman Andre Vasquez 9/29

This summer, in a rare display of unanimity, Chicago’s City Council made it much easier for developers to construct new housing, by eliminating parking-space minimums for many new projects built close to public transportation. The easy vote graphically demonstrated the extent of Chicago’s housing shortage and the imaginative attempts being made to solve it—which will be our topics at the September Show Up Chicago.

How did we get into this mess? How do we get out of it? What else can be done to increase the housing supply and how can we help? Our guest speakers will be Alder Andre Vasquez, a council leader on housing issues, and Richard Day, who writes on housing and infrastructure issues for the must-read Substack newsletter A City That Works.

Show Up Chicago is a monthly community gathering/panel show/happy hour at Chicago's most highly evolved saloon. It’s a great opportunity to meet like-minded neighbors, hear the latest from political insiders, and talk about what’s happening, what should be happening, and how we can make it happen.

👉 Join Show Up Chicago on Monday, September 29, 7 – 8pm at The Hideout (1354 W Wabansia Ave). Free and open to all, but please RSVP.

While some of these Daily Actions come from our own work as Indivisible Chicago Alliance, others are from our many partners working to advance the progressive agenda. We invite you to join us in supporting their work. Postings from partners do not imply Indivisible Chicago Alliance endorsement of specific policies and positions.
