Monday, July 1 - Voter Protection Phone Banking / No More U.S. Weapons Used on Gaza Civilians

Actions You Can Take

Action 1: Wisconsin Voter Protection

Help protect the vote in Wisconsin by recruiting poll observers for our August election! Poll observers are our eyes and ears at polling locations, and we need your help to recruit them so that voters can safely and easily cast their ballots this spring.

All you need is your phone and a computer (laptop or desktop, not a tablet). Training is offered at every phonebank on Zoom, and we provide the script! Join an upcoming WI voter protection phone bank.

Or, Join our Wisconsin Voter Protection 101 Training to learn about Wisconsin election law so you can help people exercise their right to vote. We'll cover election law basics, voter registration, and available resources, as well as how you can get involved protecting democracy in your community! Sign up for a training session July 11 or 25.

Action 2: No More U.S. Weapons Used on Gaza Civilians

In November, Indivisible Chicago issued a statement urging our members of Congress to support an immediate ceasefire in Gaza, to ensure humanitarian aid to residents of Gaza, to continue to demand the release of all hostages, and to block US military aid to Israel that would cause additional civilian deaths in Gaza.

Over Memorial Day weekend, we all saw the devastating news out of Rafah, where dozens of men, women, and children died as the result of an Israeli military attack that used US-made bombs. The Rafah massacre occurred after over 37,000 people in Gaza have been killed by the Israeli government, and the lives of many more Palestinians are under threat.

At least three Illinois members of the US House (Rep Jonathan Jackson, Rep Delia Ramirez, Rep Chuy Garcia) have issued statements calling for the United States to end military funding to the Israeli government. Let's call on all our elected members of Congress to act.

Phone our two Illinois senators and your own congressman/congresswoman and tell them that the United States must stop providing military aid for the Israeli government to use against civilians in Gaza.

Suggested script: "Hello, I am [full name] and I am a constituent in zip code________. The Israeli government is using military aid from the United States in attacks that have killed civilians in Gaza. Take action to block US military aid to Israel that would cause additional civilian deaths in Gaza."

While some of these Daily Actions come from our own work as Indivisible Chicago Alliance, others are from our many partners working to advance the progressive agenda. We invite you to join us in supporting their work. Postings from partners do not imply Indivisible Chicago Alliance endorsement of specific policies and positions.
