ICA and Partner Action: Chicago May Day Rally & March 5/1
This May Day, a broad coalition of organizations are uniting for a day of action and economic power. We are taking action in solidarity with workers, immigrants and everyone impacted the most by the Trump regime’s barbaric attacks on our rights and freedoms.
Join us to support these organizations for a powerful May Day in Chicago! We continue our resistance to the Trump regime by showing up on this International Workers' Day -- and every day -- to fight for a better future and country that serves workers, not billionaires, and to demand ICE out of our communities!
👉 Join the May Day Rally and March on Friday, May 1 from 1 – 3:30pm at Union Park (1501 W Randolph St)

Community Action: Oppose Kevin Warsh for Federal Reserve Chair
Trump’s nomination of Kevin Warsh for chair of the Federal Reserve comes amid the Department of Justice’s ongoing criminal investigation of current chairman Jerome Powell. A federal judge ruled that Powell’s investigation is a politically motivated attempt to undermine the Fed’s independence and force Powell to cut interest rates. Trump’s attacks on Powell and Warsh’s public reversal of his previous hesitancy around lowering interest rates have raised concerns that Warsh, unlike Powell, will allow Trump to dictate the nation’s monetary policy. Senate Democrats, along with Republican Senator Thom Tillis, have asserted that no new Fed chair should be confirmed while Trump’s lawsuit against Powell remains open to appeals.
Warsh’s role as Federal Reserve governor during the 2008 financial crisis and failure to adequately disclose details of his $100 million holdings raise further concerns about his integrity. Senator Elizabeth Warren, the ranking Democrat on the Senate Banking Committee, has criticized Warsh’s embrace of risky subprime investment vehicles and prioritization of bank bailouts over taxpayer relief during the 2008 crisis. Warren has also asserted that Warsh’s financial disclosures do not meet Senate ethics standards and flagged Warsh’s appearance in the Epstein files.
Warsh’s refusal to say that Trump lost the 2020 election and his reversal on interest rate policy are concerning signals of Warsh currying favor with Trump. He is untrustworthy to lead the Federal Reserve and maintain its necessary independence from the White House.
👉 Urge Congress to reject Warsh’s nomination.

Script: Hi, my name is [NAME] and I’m a constituent from Chicago. I'm calling to urge Senator [NAME] to oppose Kevin Warsh's nomination for Federal Reserve Chair. He has failed to disclose his personal financial holdings and flip flopped on his interest rate stance to align himself with Trump. He cannot be trusted to maintain the Fed's independence.

ICA Chapter Action: How to Get Your Non-Union Workplace Ready for A General Strike
On April 27th, Indivisible Chicago Northwest invites you to join their virtual training session to help communities across Chicago get ready for May Day 2026 and to start to build momentum towards a general strike at your non-union workplace.*
In this session, the trainers will discuss how participants can effectively:
Find like-minded colleagues and learn how to start organizing conversations with them.
Create meaningful dialogue and build toward small, intentional actions that bring people together.
Facilitate “structure tests” to get groups to take low stakes action together that supports bigger actions later.
Note: The session will take place virtually using Google Meet. Link will be sent out after you sign up.
*Note: May Day 2026 is not a general strike, this is preparation for potential future actions.
