Community Action: LGBTQ+ Town Hall TOMORROW

Join TaskForce Prevention & Community Services and Equality Illinois for a community town hall focused on listening, connection, and collective action.

This annual event brings together LGBTQ+ community members, advocates, and leaders to share experiences, identify pressing needs, and help shape a bold, statewide vision for equity and change. Through open dialogue and community-driven conversation, participants will have the opportunity to speak directly about the issues impacting their lives and contribute to advocacy efforts that center LGBTQ+ voices across Illinois.

Whether you’re looking to share your story, stay informed, or get more involved in shaping the future of LGBTQ+ rights and resources, this space is for you!

👉 Join the event TOMORROW, Friday, April 24 at 2:30 p.m. at TaskForce Prevention and Community Services (9 North Cicero Avenue)

ICA Partner Action: Show Up Chicago 4/27

Presented monthly by the Blue Beginning chapter of Indivisible Chicago, Show Up Chicago is a combination community gathering, cocktail hour, and political panel show at Chicago's most highly evolved saloon. It's a great chance to mingle with like-minded neighbors, hear the latest from political insiders, and gossip about the issues we all care about.

Our topic this month will be The New New Journalism: As legacy media outlets crumble (and capitulate), we're getting more and more of our news from independent DIY reporters working through platforms like Substack, TikTok, YouTube, etc. As news consumers, who do we trust? How do we verify? What are the implications for the all-important midterm elections coming in November?

Our guests will be former Tribune editor Mark Jacob, now proprietor of the Substack media newsletter Stop the Presses, and Steve Held, cofounder of the independent news site Unraveled

👉 Join the event on Monday, April 27 from 7 – 8:30pm at The Hideout (1354 W Wabansia Ave). Doors and bar open at 6, program 7-8:30. Free and open to all, but please RSVP.

ICA and Partner Action: No to ICE Profiteers 5/1

This May Day, we are standing together to send a clear message to Highlands REIT: our communities are not for sale to ICE profiteers.

Highlands REIT is currently leasing a former prison in Colorado to ICE and the Geo Group for use as a new detention center. We believe in dignity for our neighbors, not profiting from their confinement.

Please join Arise Chicago, Indivisible Chicago, and Evanston Interfaith Clergy and Leaders for a powerful rally at the Highlands REIT corporate headquarters. Let’s make our voices heard and demand an end to the monetization of detention.

When: May 1st at 10:00 am

Where: 1 S. Dearborn, Chicago

While some of these Daily Actions come from our own work as Indivisible Chicago Alliance, others are from our individual chapters or many partners working to advance the progressive agenda. We invite you to join us in supporting their work. Postings from community partners do not imply Indivisible Chicago Alliance endorsement of specific policies and positions.
