ICA & Partner Aaction: WI Election Actions This Week

Help us protect Wisconsin’s Liberal Supreme Court Majority on April 1st! Your efforts helped Justice Janet Protasiewicz win, and now we need your support for Susan Crawford to secure a seat on the WI Supreme Court.

Wisconsin’s Supreme Court is a crucial battleground. Judge Crawford is running to replace retiring Justice Ann Walsh Bradley. A win for Crawford keeps the court’s 4-3 liberal majority intact, while a loss to MAGA-backed Brad Schimel could flip the court conservative for the next decade.

The upcoming state Supreme Court is going to play an enormous role, not only in shaping the future of freedom and democracy and workers’ rights, but as an institution that can provide a check on the Trump administration and on what MAGA Republicans are trying to do. Abortion access, voting rights, legislative maps, and collective bargaining rights are all at stake.

ICA Action: Tell Dems to Hold the Line!

Nearly every House Republican supported a budget framework that threatens Medicaid and other essential programs to fund tax cuts for the wealthy. The sole no vote came from a member seeking even deeper cuts to hungry kids and struggling families.

This fight isn't over. That vote was just a vague "concept of a plan," allowing Republicans to dodge accountability for cutting health insurance. The real challenge lies ahead: crafting a bill to slash $2 trillion from the budget. This will inevitably mean cutting healthcare and vital services, angering constituents and jeopardizing lives.

While Democrats stood strong and voted NO on this harmful bill, a new challenge looms: the government shuts down on March 14 unless Congress passes a new spending bill. Republicans need Democratic votes, but instead of negotiating in good faith, they’re pushing a MAGA budget disaster.

👉 Now is the time to tell your reps: Democrats must continue to hold the line and demand a funding deal that protects essential programs and rights!

Partner Action: Do Not Comply Training 3/19

Teachers and bus drivers are pledging to resist ICE raids. Doctors are continuing healthcare for trans kids, and religious leaders are protecting vulnerable community members. Across the country, regular people are standing up against the racist, billionaire-driven Trump agenda.

You can join this movement in your own community! In this training, you’ll hear from everyday people about their organizing efforts and learn how to get involved. After the call, you'll receive our Pledge Organizing Guide, a tool for community organizing. Together, we can build the collective power needed to challenge authoritarian agendas.

👉 Join the Do Not Comply Training on Wednesday, March 19 at 7 p.m. CT.

Can’t attend? Register to get a recording afterward.
