ICA & Partner Action: Join Us at an Upcoming Event!

Is it just us, or is there a lot going on lately? We know each day brings fresh challenges (and horrors), and that it can be hard to keep up. THANK YOU to everyone who has shown up to resist so far, and know that we appreciate your voice in this fight.

👉We hope to see you at an upcoming event!

Partner Action: Save the Institute of Museum & Library Services

On Friday, March 14th, Trump signed an executive order to eliminate the Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS), the only federal agency dedicated to supporting America’s libraries.

Libraries have been a cornerstone of American communities for generations, providing essential services like early literacy programs, high-speed internet, job assistance, STEM education, and veteran telehealth spaces. By cutting IMLS, this administration is gutting funding for libraries across the country—especially in rural areas where these services are lifelines.

To dismiss committed workers and mission of an agency that advances opportunity and learning is to dismiss the aspirations and everyday needs of millions of Americans

👉 Call your representatives and demand they protect IMLS funding.

  • Contact Senator Durbin at 312-353-4952 or at other numbers listed here

  • Contact Senator Duckworth at 312-886-3506 or at other numbers listed here

  • Find your reps here

Script: Hi, my name is [NAME] and I’m a constituent from [CITY, ZIP]. I’m calling to urge [REP/SEN NAME] to work to protect federal funding for the Institute of Museum and Library Services. Libraries and museums are vital parts of our communities and provide so many essential services. Please show up for our libraries and urge the White House to hold back its attack on their funding.

There are two special elections for House seats coming up in Florida. While these districts are heavily Republican, Democratic candidates have consistently over-performed in special elections in recent years.

👉 If you have some extra energy and want to help Florida voters make their voices heard, consider joining the phone banks for these two candidates. Your support can make a difference in sending a message for change!
