Partner Action: Prevent Homelessness in IL
Take action today to support Illinois' Homeless Prevention Program. This program provides rental and utility assistance, as well as case management, to help people at risk of homelessness stay in their homes.
The Homeless Prevention Program not only saves people from the mental and physical toll of experiencing homelessness, it also saves the State an average of more than $6,000 per household in emergency services.
Statewide, we already have a shortage of 5,379 emergency shelter beds and 10,972 permanent supportive housing units, so we need to do all we can to prevent more Illinoisans from losing their housing. As rents and mortgage payments rise, the Homeless Prevention program is a proven solution, keeping more than 90% of grant recipients in their homes.
👉 Contact your state legislators today to urge them to advocate for the highest level of funding possible for the Homeless Prevention Program.

The Volunteer Fair is back! This spring, we're highlighting even more incredible organizations doing impactful work in Chicago. Join us at this fun community event to learn about a wide variety of opportunities to get involved!
Whether you’re passionate about mentorship, animal rescue, the environment, community building or social causes, join us to find meaningful ways to get involved and meet like-minded Chicagoans.
In addition to over 30 local non-profits with ways to get involved and make a difference, we'll have local makers, tarot and Ramova theatre's full bar and grill to enjoy!
