Partner Action: Protect Our Food Safety System
Staffing cuts and policy changes under the Trump administration have weakened the federal agencies responsible for keeping our food safe. The FDA, CDC, and USDA have lost thousands of workers, while food safety labs, inspections, and disease-tracking programs have been cut.
This summer, the U.S. saw its largest-ever outbreak of cyclosporiasis, with more than 15,700 confirmed cases. Congress must ensure our food safety agencies have the staff and resources to prevent and respond to outbreaks.
👉 Congress must restore food safety staff, labs, and inspection programs at the FDA, CDC, and USDA and fully fund these critical programs.

Partner Action: Help Protect Wisconsin Voters
Every vote matters this November, and WisDems Voter Protection needs virtual volunteers to help Wisconsin voters navigate problems that could otherwise keep their votes from being counted.
There are two ways to help from home:
Voter Assistance Hotline: Staff the virtual hotline during the election to answer voting-related questions and help voters navigate issues or concerns.
Ballot Cure: Call absentee voters whose ballots are in danger of being rejected and guide them through the steps they need to take to fix, or "cure," their ballot so it can be counted.

ICA Chapter Action: Election Protection Workshop 8/29
Voting rights are under increasing pressure, and protecting our elections takes people who know what to watch for and how to respond. Join Indivisible Elk Grove Township for an Election Protection Workshop on Saturday, August 29 to learn what's being done to defend voters and how you can help.
Speakers from the ACLU of Illinois and Cook County Clerk's Office will cover protecting voter data, countering voter suppression, preventing intimidation at polling places, voting information, and ways volunteers can get involved.
