ICA Action: TONIGHT - Show Up Chicago with State Senator Graciela Guzman

What should you do if immigration agents show up in your neighborhood or workplace? Should you answer their questions? Take a video? Say something useful to people being rounded up? At the July session of Show Up Chicago, we’ll discuss these questions with experts who know the ropes, including State Senator Graciela Guzman, an outspoken champion of immigrants’ rights. Find out what to do (and what not to do) when our neighbors are threatened, and how you can help every day to resist the cruel spectacle being brought to our streets.

Show Up Chicago is a monthly community gathering/panel show/happy hour hosted by the Chicago's most highly evolved saloon and produced by the Blue Beginning chapter of Indivisible Chicago. It’s a great opportunity to mix with like-minded neighbors, hear the latest from political insiders, and talk about what’s broken and how we fix it.

👉 Come to Show Up Chicago TONIGHT, Monday, July 28 at 7 p.m. The Hideout (1354 W Wabansia Ave)

Doors at 6, panel at 7, but come early, stay late, gossip freely, and tip your bartender! Free and open to all, but please RSVP.

If the event is at capacity, send an email to bluebeginning2017@gmail.com and we will try to squeeze you in. Or, watch a live stream at: youtube.com/@BlueBeginning.

Partner Action: End the War and Humanitarian Crisis in Gaza

For 21 months, reports from Gaza have revealed increasingly devastating and unfathomable suffering. After nearly two years of cruel blockades, Israel’s policy of starvation as a weapon of war has reached a critical point. Palestinians, including children and infants, are starving, collapsing in the streets, and dying from hunger.

This is an emergency. This humanitarian crisis is fully funded and supported by the United States. Thousands of trucks of food and medicine are ready outside Gaza, poised to deliver life-saving aid. We must do everything possible to stop the starvation, halt the bombing, and end this atrocity now.

👉 Call Congress now to demand unrestricted humanitarian aid and an end to all U.S. weapons shipments to Israel.

Partner Action: Unpack the Big Ugly Bill 7/30

People's Action Institute is proud to co-sponsor a livestream event on July 30, marking the 60th anniversary of Medicaid and Medicare. Alongside partners like the National Domestic Workers Alliance and Faith in Action, we’ll discuss the devastating “Big Ugly Betrayal”—a budget that cuts Medicaid, housing, and education, while giving billions in tax breaks to the wealthy and expanding ICE and Border Patrol.

The event features movement leaders, impacted individuals, and officials sharing insights on what’s in the bill, why it was passed, and how to fight back.

👉 Join us on Wednesday, July 30 at 7 p.m. to build power, learn, and prepare for action this August and beyond.
