Community Action: Souls to the Polls Phone Bank 7/14 & 7/16
The clock is running — and the stakes are real. With the August 11 primary and November 3 general election on the horizon, thousands of Milwaukee's Black voters face a quiet crisis: they've been removed from the voter rolls without knowing it, and they may lack the Wisconsin Photo ID required to get back on. Souls to the Polls Wisconsin is offering free rides to the DMV so voters can get their Photo ID — a card that opens doors far beyond the ballot box: banking, employment, housing, travel.
Every ride is a step toward full civic standing. But first these people have to be found, and this is where you come in.
YOUR ROLE: WHAT YOU'LL DO IN TWO HOURS
Make outreach calls to Milwaukee voters who may want a free ride to the DMV to get their Photo ID — using our scripted call guide and TaxiCaller system to log each ride request.
Send targeted text messages to voters flagged on our call lists — quick, personal, and easy to do from any device.
Identify voters who may have been purged from the rolls and connect them with the information they need to re-register and get a Photo ID before the August deadline.
Log your contacts in our TaxiCaller dispatch system so our team can follow up and schedule rides efficiently.
Work from home or anywhere — all you need is a phone or laptop. Our team will provide scripts, login access, and live support.

There will also be events throughout the weekend that make it clear we’re staying in “good trouble” and "necessary trouble” as we work for justice.

Community Action: Healthcare for All Event 7/30
61 years ago, Medicare and Medicaid were signed into law, a landmark promise that every American deserves access to care. Today, that promise is under attack.
Washington is coming after Medicare and Medicaid with cuts that will devastate our communities. Corporate greed is driving up costs and gutting the care Illinois families depend on. Insurance deductibles have skyrocketed by more than 50% over the last decade and nearly 20 million people are drowning in medical debt.
On July 30th, the anniversary of that historic signing, Chicagoans are joining a statewide day of action to defend what we've won and demand more. Join patients, community members, and elected champions as we rally together for the real reform Illinois families deserve.
👉 Join the Healthcare for All event on Thursday, July 30 at 10 a.m. at Federal Plaza.
