Action 1: Attend Indivisible Lincoln Square monthly meeting
Indivisible Lincoln Square will be hosting a Zoom meeting with Sara Feigenholtz (6th IL Senate district), Hoan Huynh (13th IL House district), Mike Simmons (7th IL Senate district), and Ann Williams (11th IL House district) at 7 pm on Tuesday, April 18.
This will be a great opportunity to find out what will be coming up in the legislature this coming year, how constituents can best give feedback, what committees they’re on, their role in each, their legislative priorities, and how grassroots can help with their priorities. There will be ample opportunity to ask questions.
Ans Indivisible Lincoln Square general meeting will begin at 6:30pm. Our invited elected officials will join us at 7:00pm for brief introductions, followed by Q&A time.
Action 2: Donate to Support a Progressive Tennessee
The following two organizations are central funding sources for the myriad of groups doing effective community organizing in TN – and are a great way to make sure you’re devoting dollars to responding to the current crisis in the state. Because this is a political fight, 501c4 dollars are very much in need – but the 501c3 fund can also support organizations doing education and advocacy:
Three frontline organizations you can support directly:
TIRRC Votes is a 501(c)(4) advocacy organization focused on immigrant issues. They’ve done incredible work in voter registration and mobilization, door-knocking and advocacy since their founding in 2018.
The Equity Alliance is a 501(c)(3) “led by award-winning Black Women” who are in the front of the fight in community organizing in Nashville.
Memphis for All is a grassroots organizing group trying to mobilize voters and assist new candidates like Justin Pearson to gain power locally and at the state level.
While some of these Daily Actions come from our own work as Indivisible Chicago Alliance, others are from our many partners working to advance the progressive agenda. We invite you to join us in supporting their work. Postings from partners do not imply Indivisible Chicago Alliance endorsement of specific policies and positions.
