Action 1: Tell Congress: Reunite Afghan Families
At least 1,550 children came to the United States as Unaccompanied Afghan Minors after the fall of Kabul. Two years later, the trauma of that separation is a constant ache for these children. Many of them are still waiting to reunite with their families.
The Afghan Adjustment Act would significantly help the children we serve and the thousands of other Afghan refugees who were quickly relocated out of danger two years ago.
Please urge your members of Congress to pass the bipartisan Afghan Adjustment Act quickly to bring safety and security to the innocent children separated from their family and homeland. Find your representatives and call them today!

Action 2: Support Pretrial Fairness
We are excited that the Pretrial Fairness Act is now set for a September 18 implementation date, including the end of money bond!
Send a letter today to your legislators in Springfield to show you support this win and to let them know the Illinois Network for Pretrial Justice is committed to defending the law against further attacks. The Network is also hosting a round of community court watching starting in September to observe pretrial hearings across the state and monitor the implementation of the Pretrial Fairness Act.
There is also community canvassing teams statewide to spread awareness of the Pretrial Fairness Act! Each canvass will include a brief training session to help you feel comfortable and confident while out in the community. Sign up for canvassing opportunities here!
