Monday, March 4 - Primary Voting Guides / Prescription Drug Affordability Act

Actions You Can Take

Action 1: Check Out Progressive Primary Voting Guides

Chicago Votes' 2024 Primary Voter Guide is out and ready to assist you with all your voting needs! This nonpartisan guide includes a state's attorney questionnaire, Bring Chicago Home details, voting 101 information, and more.

Now through March 19th, Chicagoans will be voting on much more than just the president. We get to vote on the people who write and pass laws for the entire country and the state of Illinois, the Cook County State's Attorney and judges who decide who gets locked up, and other local races.

The State’s Attorney questionnaire was sent to all candidates. The answers in this guide are based on direct responses from candidates' campaigns and direct quotes. Chicago Votes does not endorse candidates. They provide trustworthy nonpartisan information, so you can make your own decisions!

Action 1: Support the Prescription Drug Affordability Act

Support for the Prescription Drug Affordability Act (HB 4472 / SB 3108) continues to grow in the General Assembly. As of today, over 40 co-sponsors have signed on in the House and Senate!

The #1 thing legislators have said will make a difference when deciding whether to support the Prescription Drug Affordability Act is how many constituents reach out to them about it. We’ve built up a strong momentum so far and we have to keep it going. That’s why Citizen Action Illinois will be hosting textbanks to inform our neighbors about the Prescription Drug Affordability Act and connect them to their legislators. Here are the details:

  • Monday, March 4th at 1:00 PM

  • Thursday, March 7th at 11:00 AM

  • Friday, March 8th at 10:00 AM

  • Tuesday, March 12th at 1:00 PM

  • Wednesday, March 13th at 11:00 AM

  • Thursday, March 14th at 10:00 AM

No prior textbanking experience is required and we’ll give you a quick tutorial at the beginning of each session. Pick a time that works for you and register here.

Don’t forget to contact your legislators and tell them you support the Prescription Drug Affordability Act!
