Wednesday, August 28 - Michigan Canvassing 9/8 / Chicago Fair Elections Ordinance

Actions You Can Take

Action 1: Michigan Canvassing 9/8

Come and join Indivisible Chicago knocking doors in the critical swing state of Michigan as we work to maintain the Midwest Blue Wall and defeat Trump.

We'll make the 90-minute drive from Chicago to where we’re headed in Michigan. We’ll have a pre-canvass briefing once we get there, then split off into pairs to knock doors and find the voters that are going to help us deliver a win in November.

We'll provide all the info and prep you'll need and will have carpools for anyone needing a ride. Sign up today for one or both shifts. Let's go talk to some voters!

Action 2: Chicago Fair Elections Ordinance

For too long, big-money donors and special interest groups have dominated Chicago politics. Chicagoans deserve a government that represents everyone - but ordinary people are often barred from running for office because they cannot afford to keep up with big spenders.

By amplifying small-dollar donations with public funding, the Fair Elections Ordinance will give grassroots candidates a fairer chance at running for office, give back power to the working class, and limit the influence of big-money donors.

Other large cities in the United States, like New York and Los Angeles, have empowered ordinary people through similar public financing programs. It's time that Chicago step up and do the same.

Contact your alderperson today to ask them to support this ordinance!
