Partner Action: Support the Chicago Medicare for All Resolution

A resolution supporting Medicare for All in the Chicago City Council is moving forward. On Tuesday, March 10 at 10 a.m., the measure will receive a subject matter hearing in the Health and Human Relations Committee — an important step before a full council vote.

The resolution would signal that Chicago stands behind a national single-payer healthcare system that guarantees coverage for everyone.

Here’s how you can help move it forward:

👉 Contact your alderperson and ask them to support the resolution. You can check if they are already a sponsor here

👉 Attend the subject matter hearing on Tuesday, March 10 at 10 a.m. at City Hall to show support.

👉 Submit written public comment supporting the resolution by emailing CommitteeOnHealthAndHumanRelations@CityofChicago.org before 1 p.m. on Monday, March 9.

Partner Action: Tell Congress to Invest in Arts & Entertainment Jobs

Congress is currently deciding funding levels for the National Endowment for the Arts and the National Endowment for the Humanities — two programs that support arts, culture, and entertainment industry jobs across the country.

Last year, advocates successfully pushed back against efforts by the Trump administration to eliminate these agencies, and Congress maintained $207 million in funding for each.

Now lawmakers are considering next year’s budget. Advocates are urging Congress to support $213 million in funding for both agencies in Fiscal Year 2027.

👉 Contact your members of Congress and urge them to sign the appropriations request letters for the NEA and NEH.
