Action 1: Canvass in Wisconsin This Weekend & Next!
Wisconsin’s Supreme Court race is the MOST IMPORTANT ELECTION many haven't heard about. Here we can help elect a Progressive, Judge Janet Prostasiewicz to fill an open 10-year seat on the Wisconsin Supreme Court. This would move Wisconsin towards more democracy and protect basic freedoms. Next year this Court is likely to hear cases contesting the extreme gerrymander of Wisconsin electoral districts; overturning the current 1849 law banning almost all abortions; and various restrictions on the ability to vote, enacted by the gerrymandered GOP legislature. YOUR TIME MAY MAKE THE DIFFERENCE IN THIS ELECTION!
Canvassing door-to-door is one of the most effective ways to increase our voter turnout. Especially in a typically low-turnout election, our efforts are likely to have a
big effect. Come canvass before the April 4 election with an Indivisible Chicago Alliance group and our WisDem hosts. Indivisible Chicago Alliance will arrange carpools and canvassing partners and familiarize you with our canvassing tools. Our time will include orientation before canvassing. You will be invited to participate in our post-canvass debrief over lunch.

Action 2: Chicago Mayoral Forum on LGBTQ Issues 3/22
Our country has seen waves of regressive policies that specifically target the rights of Transgender, Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Intersex, and Queer (LGBTQ+) people. Black and Brown LGBTQ+ people are particularly impacted. How will Chicago's next Mayor make a difference?
Your voice and your vote count! Join us in a community forum to hear how our city's Mayoral candidates will address the issues that matter most to us, our families, and our communities.
The virtual forum will be moderated by Kim Hunt and Alexis Martinez, includes the opportunity to speak directly with candidates and other community members.
This event is hosted by a collective of social justice organizations dedicated to meeting the intersectional needs of Black and Latinx people of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Intersex, and Queer+ identities. The host organizations are: Affinity Community Services, ALMA Chicago, Brave Space Alliance, Chicago Black Gay Mens Caucus, Life is Work, and Taskforce Chicago.
Sign up to watch the virtual Chicago Mayoral Run Off Forum on LGBTQ Issues on Wednesday, March 22, 8-9pm. The event will be available online through zoom and live stream of the host organization social media pages.
While some of these Daily Actions come from our own work as Indivisible Chicago Alliance, others are from our many partners working to advance the progressive agenda. We invite you to join us in supporting their work. Postings from partners do not imply Indivisible Chicago Alliance endorsement of specific policies and positions.
