Friday, September 9 - Write Letters to Voters with Members of the Hamilton Cast 9/15 / Canvass in Kenosha on 9/17

Actions You Can Take Today

Action 1: Write Letters to Voters with Members of the Hamilton Cast 9/15

Join members of the cast of Hamilton, special guests, and volunteers from across the country for a Big Send letter-writing party! We’re asking you to help us write handwritten letters encouraging people to vote in the 2022 midterms. You can write from the comfort of your couch with friends or solo!

At this virtual event, you’ll learn about how Vote Forward letters have been proven to increase voter turnout, get tips and training on refining your message to voters, and have your letter-writing questions answered by the Vote Forward team! All while hearing from the past and present cast of Hamilton, and some very special guests.

Vote Forward’s letter writing campaigns are designed to reach voters in the congressional districts and states where boosting turnout will have the biggest impact on election outcomes, with a particular focus on reaching historically underrepresented voters in Black, Asian, Latino, and Native American communities.

RSVP today for the virtual event on Thursday, September 15 from 6 – 7pm. Invite your friends and family, too and encourage them to become letter writers this year!

Never written letters before? No problem! Visit votefwd.org and make an account, download twenty letters, and learn how to write and prepare them at the event.

Action 2: Canvass in Kenosha on 9/17

Wisconsin election results may determine the future of our country. Wisconsin statewide elections tend to be won by less than 1% of votes, so a little extra help from us this midterm may be critical. We helped in 2020, and now in 2022 we can help our northern neighbors flip a US Senate seat from MAGA Ron Johnson to progressive Mandela Barnes. We can support the reelection of Gov. Evers whose veto holds back the extreme GOP gerrymandered legislature.

Come canvass with us! We start at the Kenosha County Democratic Party Office (5712 7th Avenue in Kenosha) for orientation. There we will meet Representative Tip McGuire, and Kenosha Co. canvassers. We will train you and partner folks with you so you will be confident to do your part in this joint effort.

After canvassing we will debrief together to share our experiences in the Kenosha Dems office. After the canvass, we have been invited 15 minutes away for some fun in Racine. There,  we will meet with the Secretary of the Wisconsin Democratic Party, Chair of Racine Co. Dems, and partake in the once yearly Racine celebration of Party on the Pavement in downtown Racine, where we can get lunch.

Once you sign up we will send you more information, make sure you have a ride, maps, etc.

Sign up to canvass in Kenosha on Saturday, September 17 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

While some of these Daily Actions come from our own work as Indivisible Chicago Alliance, others are from our many partners working to advance the progressive agenda. We invite you to join us in supporting their work. Postings from partners do not imply Indivisible Chicago Alliance endorsement of specific policies and positions.
