Thursday, July 25 - Canvass Training 8/7 / No More U.S. Weapons Used on Gaza Civilians

Actions You Can Take

Action 1: In-Person Canvass Training 8/7

Did you miss our last in-person canvass training? Catch our next one on Wednesday, August 7, 6:30 to 8pm at Grace Episcopal Church, 637 S. Dearborn St. in Chicago.

You know it's true: If we don’t knock on thousands of doors this year in Wisconsin and Michigan, Donald Trump will become president for life. But maybe you're hesitant about canvassing. A lot of people are! Or maybe it's been a while and you need a refresher. Either way this live training class is for you.

We show you what to expect; lead you through the process step-by-step; share tips accumulated over years of experience; and answer all your questions and concerns. And we bring friends from Chicago improv companies to add a little fun and a lot of communication savvy. Even if you're a nervous newbie, we can turn you into a cool, confident door-knocker, ready to do the Work That Must Be Done.

Sign up to attend the in-person training on August 7!

Action 2: No More U.S. Weapons Used on Gaza Civilians

Indivisible Chicago urges our members of Congress to support an immediate ceasefire in Gaza, to ensure humanitarian aid to residents of Gaza, to continue to demand the release of all hostages, and to block US military aid to Israel that would cause additional civilian deaths in Gaza.

At least 39,000 people in Gaza have been killed by the Israeli government, but The Lancet journal estimates that the true number of dead could be as high as 186,000. The lives of many more Palestinians are under daily threat.

At least three Illinois members of the US House (Rep Jonathan Jackson, Rep Delia Ramirez, Rep Chuy Garcia) have issued statements calling for the United States to end military funding to the Israeli government. Let's call on all our elected members of Congress to act.

Phone our two Illinois senators and your own congressman/congresswoman and tell them that the United States must stop providing military aid for the Israeli government to use against civilians in Gaza.

Suggested script: "Hello, I am [full name] and I am a constituent in zip code________. The Israeli government is using military aid from the United States in attacks that have killed civilians in Gaza. Take action to block US military aid to Israel that would cause additional civilian deaths in Gaza."
